Louisville Cardinals football fans are in for a treat this weekend as they not only get to witness an exciting matchup against Virginia Tech, but also have the opportunity to give back to their community. In collaboration with Kroger, the University of Louisville is hosting a food drive to support those in need within the UofL community.
Fans attending the game on Saturday are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and hygiene products. Collection bins will be conveniently placed outside all entry gates, making it easy for fans to make their contributions. Additionally, volunteers will be stationed at the Kroger Ultimate Tailgate in the Planet Fitness Purple Lot to collect any donations.
The collected items will go a long way in benefiting UofL students, faculty, and staff who are facing hardships. It is heartening to see the Cardinals and Kroger join forces to support their community in such a meaningful way.
This weekend’s collection event is just the beginning of a series of drives that will be co-hosted by the Cards and Kroger. Throughout the winter season, other sporting events will also serve as platforms for fans to contribute towards this noble cause. It is a wonderful opportunity for sports enthusiasts to come together and make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Let us applaud the University of Louisville, Kroger, and all the fans who will be participating in the food drive. Their collective efforts will undoubtedly create a positive impact on the UofL community and demonstrate the power of sports in bringing people together for a greater cause.
