Miller and Gillotte were placed on the national ballot after earning all-district recognition in May. To be eligible for the initial district ballot, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, be at least a sophomore academically, and be a starter or key reserve on their respective team.

Gillotte’s standout game came against Boston College, where he recorded a career best 3.0 sacks. He also managed to get a pair of sacks against Duke in a shutout victory over the Blue Devils. With a total of 22.0 career sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss, Gillotte has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in his 37 career games for the Cardinals.

With a total of 11.0 sacks, Gillotte currently ranks eighth nationally in that category. This impressive statistic also places him at ninth on the school’s single-season list. The Boca Raton native has consistently performed at a high level, starting in all 13 games for his team. He has recorded a career-best 45 tackles and 14.5 tackles for loss, contributing significantly to Louisville’s defense, which is nationally ranked at 16th.

Gillotte played a pivotal role in the Cardinals’ victory, recording 1.5 sacks against Virginia. This stellar performance not only earned him the prestigious weekly conference accolade but also propelled him up to sixth place in the nation for total sacks this season, with an impressive 10.0 sacks in total. The junior from Boca Raton, Florida, showcased his exceptional talent and marked himself as a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line.

Gillotte’s stellar performance in the recent win against Virginia saw him record 1.5 sacks, taking his season total up to a career-high 10.0 sacks. This impressive feat has propelled him to sixth place in the nation for sacks. Gillotte’s achievement marks the first time a player has reached the 10.0 sacks mark since Yasir Abdullah in 2021.
