In 2022, the University of Kentucky women’s team tied their best team finish at the national competition by placing third with a school-record of 44 points. Abby Steiner, the Bowerman winner, earned gold in the 200m and silver in the 60m, propelling the team to their best finish since the 2018 indoor season. After their 14th place finish in 2021, which was their highest team finish in 25 years since the men placed seventh with 22 points in 1996, the men will seek to reclaim their best finish in 25 years. In 2022, the men placed 21st overall. Seven of the 17 Wildcats who qualified for this year’s indoor championship meet also competed in last year’s indoor NCAAs for Kentucky, including Luke Brown, Keaton Daniel, Karimah Davis, Tori Herman, Dajour Miles, Masai Russell, and Jenna Schwinghamer. This week, Jordan Anthony, Josh Sobota, and Anthaya Charlton will make their NCAA Indoor Championships debuts.
