The Blue team emerged victorious in the Kentucky STUNT Blue-White game against the White team, winning 15-11 on Saturday at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington. The scrimmage was played in a modified format, with three routines in each quarter.

The Blue team started strong by winning the first point of the game, while the other two points of the first period ended in a tie. The Blue team led 3-2 after the first quarter.

In the second period, the Blue team once again claimed the first point. The second routine ended in a tie, but the White team managed to win the final point. Despite this, the Blue team maintained their lead with a score of 5-4 at halftime.

The game remained closely contested in the third quarter. The teams tied for the first point, but the Blue team secured the second point. A tie on the final point brought the score to 8-6 in favor of the Blue team after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, where three points were available for each team on each routine, the teams each earned two points on the first routine, giving the Blue team a 10-8 advantage. The Blue team then won two points on the second routine, while the White team secured one point, extending the Blue team’s lead to 12-9. The final routine ended in a tie with two points each, but the Blue team walked away with the victory.

UK head coach, Blair Bergmann, was pleased with his team’s performance during the scrimmage, stating, “I think we had a great scrimmage. I think it was a great event from start to finish. We had good energy from both teams.” However, Bergmann acknowledged that there are still areas that need improvement before the regular season begins, particularly in terms of team chemistry.

Kentucky’s regular season will kick off on February 3rd against Alma and Ashland at the Clive M. Beck Center on the campus of Transylvania University.
